Yeap! Finally, SPCA Kota Kinabalu is in town. They don't have a centre yet but currently in the planning . Woohoo! If you don't know what SPCA is for, it's a society of preventing animal cruelty. So, in ful..SPCA stands for Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. SPCA KK's website is still under construction but you can bookmark them here for future reference. It would be really good if you guys can join and support ! :D I did.. hehe!
We knew abt the SPCA thing at Centre Point Sabah last Sunday. I don't really like to go down town on a weekend because I know that CP's gonna be packed with people on weekends. Well, poor KK got not much malls to go to eh.. huhu! But because of this, I'm making it an exception..I want to sign up!

Actually the SPCA in KK has been around for more than a year already but no one knew about it cos it was run by the Sabah Animal Medical Centre clinic in Luyang. The last time I visited the "centre" there were about only 5, if not less, animals that had been 'abandoned' by their ownners and there were all (except 1 doggie) in pretty good shape.
But now that they've gone 'all out' I think more people are aware of the existence of SPCA in KK and hopefully more people will join in to support this good cause. The amount of strays we see in KK is seriously depressing! People should be taught to sterilize their animals to avoid breeding (or god forbid IN BREEDING) it's a sad sad situation that we don't have control over.

charlenediane - yaa, i knew abt it too. I saw the borang on the counter tu, wanted to sign up but then balik2 sa lupa. But at least now a lil more established lah than last time. I totally agree with you about spaying ur pets to avoid over-population then in the end main buang saja here n there. Damn kesian o! .
